UNC Pembroke seeks an innovative and proven academic leader to assist the Chancellor in advancing and expanding the University’s academic mission to serve as Provost. The University: California State University, Los Angeles, one of 23 campuses of the California State University system, was founded in 1947. The University is located at the eastern edge of the city of Los Angeles and adjacent to the western San Gabriel Valley, with more than 21,000 students reflecting the rich ethnic diversity of the area.
The Position: The Dean for the College of Arts and Letters reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The College is comprised of the departments of Art, Communication Studies, English, Liberal Studies, Modern Languages and Literatures, Music, Philosophy, and Theatre Arts and Dance. Duties include but are not limited to: provides leadership while working with faculty and department chairs in formulating College policies and in determining goals and objectives; promotes educational strategies that support quality, innovation, and the utilization of technology in teaching and learning; provides oversight in compliance with accreditation standards and reporting; secures and manages the use of resources and also plays a significant leadership role in fundraising and development for the college; and represents the college to the community and other external constituencies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience: An earned doctorate from an accredited college or university and record of academic accomplishment sufficient for appointment as a full professor in one of the departments of the College. Incumbent must demonstrate significant and successful administrative experience; financial acumen; and proven leadership skills. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and oral skills. Ability to establish and maintain professional and cooperative working relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff; and an ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. Fingerprinting will be taken and checked by the California Department of Justice and FBI.
Desired Qualifications: Administrative experience in a university setting is highly desirable.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefit package is provided.

Texas Tech University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. The College offers a wide variety of programs in the liberal arts, humanities, natural sciences and mathematics, and social sciences with 44 baccalaureate degrees, 107 master's degrees and 18 doctoral degrees. The College consists of 16 academic departments, is home to over 500 tenured or tenure-accruing faculty, with 8,232 undergraduate and 1,157 graduate students.
The successful applicant will have an earned doctorate in a field of study housed within the College and a record of scholarly accomplishments that merits appointment as a tenured full professor in one of the college's departments. The dean reports to the provost and works closely with the president and other senior officers to implement the strategic plan of the university.
