Not surpris- ing is the fact that many session titles from the last two years look familiar enough to be included in the 1989 and’90 programs— and vice versa. Unexpected, however (from the view 25 years ago) are a couple of issues. The first is the threat to liberal education in today’s academy caused, in part, by the rising cost of college and the related emphasis on career educa- tion.
