viii reef fishes, Danilowicz has carried out research at locations ranging from Iceland to French Polynesia. To support his research along with student success initiatives, he has been principle investigator or co-PI on externally funded grants totaling over $11 million. Danilowicz has attended CCAS meetings annually since 2005, and presently serves as the chair of the committee on research universities. Development is a continual learning process; he is enjoying daily lessons along with the A&S development team of Lauren Kidd, Craig Jackson, Mauralee Boersma, and Melissa Smith. Go team! Richard Finkelstein Richard Finkelstein is Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He received his B.A. from Williams College and his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Prior to his work at Mary Washington, he was Chair of the English Department at SUNY Geneseo, where he taught for many years, and a faculty member at Northeastern University. He has led or served as an officer on not-for-profit boards of organizations that address the needs of young children. He is spearheading an initiative in Fred- ericksburg to build a Climate and Environmental Action Plan for the University and the region. His academic research and writing focuses on Shakespeare and Renaissance Drama.  Pamela S. Gates Pamela Gates is Professor of English and Dean of the College of Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences at Central Michigan University. She received her Ph.D. from Michigan State University and has been at CMU since 1987. Her academic teaching and research is on literature for children and young adults with a focus on multicul- tural literature; she currently co-hosts a book review radio show for the WCMU PBS station. She has attended CCAS meetings since she began her work in the Dean’s office in 2001—first as associate Dean and now as Dean for five years.
